Although some of them have dominated well in the South African industry, so you know that some of them have dual citizenship. Below are six celebrities who allegedly have dual citizenship:

Sho Majozi

The South African-born star whose real name is Maya Christinah Xichavo Wegerif was born to a Swedish father Marc Wegerif and South African mother Rosemary Phaweni in Shirley Village in Limpopo. Her parents divorced while she was at a tender age. She was raised by her father who was based outside South Africa for work. Despite being born and partly growing up in South Africa, Majozi proudly has both her parents’ countries’ identities and citizenships, hence, she is both Swedish and South African.

Connie Ferguson

Like her late husband Shona Ferguson, Connie also has a Botswana background. Connie was born in Kimberly in South Africa where her mother is from. She, however, grew up in Tshidilamolomo in Botswana where her Motswana father comes from.

This means she has both countries’ citizenship by birth and by descent.

Raphael Griffiths

He is better known by his alter-ego Zithulele Bhengu from etv’s Imbewu: The Seed.

Apart from his visible mixed-race identity, what the public may not know is that the talented actor has mixed nationality origins too.

Raphael once revealed that he was half Zambian and half South African.

His coloured father was born from a Zambian mother and had Zambian identity. Raphael’s mother on the other hand is Zulu from KZN.

Charlize Theron

The actress is doing very well in Hollywood, but what some people might not know is that while she’s an American citizen, Charlize is from South Africa and a citizen as well. She was born in South Africa and moved to the US to pursue acting at the age of 19.

As quoted by Daquan TV, Theron said:

“I left three weeks after I turned 16,” Theron explained. “I won this modeling contest, and one of the prizes was a trip to Italy with a modeling contract. And my mom was just incredibly encouraging of me doing. She felt like it was a great opportunity.”

Gigi Lamayne

Gigi Lamayne, real name Genesis Gabriella Tina Manney, is another celebrity with a dual citizenship. Her mother Sarah, is from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.

Recently she was pictured barefooted, dressed in an intsaro (wrapping cloth), feeding chickens and grinding sorghum with a wooden pestle and wooden mortar, while soaking in Zimbabwean weather.

As quoted by The Chronicle, Gigi said:

“I’m a child of Zimbabwean soil. My mother is from Zimbabwe, and I say that very proudly because I believe that’s why I’m very diverse in my writing. I grew up in South Africa and I come back to Zimbabwe to try and connect with my family and to recharge.”

Oskido

Oskido, real name, Sibonginkosi Mdlongwa is another celebrity with dual citizenship.

His late father Esaph Mdlongwa was a prominent Zimbabwean politician. Oskido left Zimbabwe for South Africa in the early 2000s. With his genius musical record he managed to gain South African citizenship for himself and his kids.
