Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana 33-year-old defender Anele Ngcongca who tragically passed away in a car accident on Monday was depressed by ex-lover Mshoza’s death according to a friend.

The sudden death of Anele Ngcongca in a car accident comes a few days after the tragic death of his ex-lover, kwaito star Mshoza. The two dated a few years ago and Mshoza miscarried Ngcongca’s child, the passing of Mshoza allegedly depressed Anele as the two were reportedly getting closer to each other again.

The power couple broke up last year after Mshoza was confronted and assaulted at a petrol station in Joburg by Anele Ngcongca’s baby mama and ex-wife for 10 years Linda Racaza leading to her miscarriage.

Mshoza opened a case against Linda Racaza citing jealousy as the catalyst behind Linda’s violent actions toward her.

The Kwaito Queen Mshoza, later on, confirmed that the two broke up but remain close friends.

“We are still friends and we still love each other very much but we could no longer stay in a relationship,” she explained.

“I feel that I moved on too fast and that a part of me is still in love with my ex” -she said.

According to a close source, the death of Mshoza depressed Anele as he was about to get back together with the mother of two.

“We are failing to come to terms with the passing of Grootman, he didn’t deserve to go this way, his fans didn’t deserve this kind of departure, he lived for his family and his fans, at least a goodbye was appropriate. As much as it is shocking and painful, he left a legacy to his name for all to see and cherish. So much was happening in his life, the death of his closest friend got into him,” -a friend said.

Anele played in Belgium for Genk where he spend 10 years and won the league with Genk once before joining Mamelodi Sundowns and won the PSL league three times with the Brazilians. He had 53 caps for Bafana Bafana.
