The Zimbabwean-born beauty is not only one of MTV‘s most adored presenters but she’s also a model and blogger who has made a name for herself in the South African entertainment industry.

Kim reportedly got her big break after MTV Base South Africa’s talent manager saw her on Instagram and offered her a job as a presenter on the channel. In less than a week, she had the job, one that she’s been doing an amazing job on.

ZAlebs caught up with Kim who is not only a presenter but also one of Revlon’s newest ambassadors alongside the likes of Luthando Shosha, Bontle Modiselle and Michelle Mosalakae.

Kim informed ZAlebs that the process of being chosen as one of the Revlon brand ambassadors was a bit of a long process but a process that was definitely worth the wait.

“It was a really long process of them choosing us because there were several rounds and they had a number of girls they were looking at selecting. I met with the Revlon team who asked me a few simple questions about myself which I answered.

A few weeks later, myself and the other three ladies were called back and the interesting part is that it was the first time I found out who the other ladies were, the whole time I didn’t know who the brand had selected for the title.

We were all together in one room when they told us we were the chosen ambassadors, so it was just super amazing. There was a lot of crying, but then the tricky part is that at the time we couldn’t tell anyone the great news, we had to keep the secret for a couple of months which was so hectic.”

As someone who is now in the public eye, Kim Jayde also shared that she’s had her fair share of ups and downs in the entertainment industry, especially when she was announced as one of the MTV Base presenters.
“As a model, I was used to being physically critiqued and learned not to take it personally because sometimes the client doesn’t want to book you because your look isn’t going to work for a particular campaign they’re focusing on.

But now as a presenter, I’m out there representing myself, I’m not a model for a brand I am me. So I think the most painful thing I’ve experienced in this industry was when we announced that I was the new presenter on MTV Base and someone tweeted saying ‘She only got the job because she’s yellow and she has no talent.’

That was hurtful because I’d genuinely like to believe that I got the job because I’m capable and I’ve kept the job because I’m capable and they’ve renewed my contract because I’m capable.”

Which is definitely true because Kim not only presents MTV’s NewsIsh but is also the presenter of MTV Base’ latest show – The D.M which has received a lot of positive reviews from viewers who enjoy watching the show. Apart from presenting, Kim also enjoys traveling a lot and the next international destination she plans on traveling to is Asia, as she appreciates the food and culture the continent has to offer.
