Acclaimed South African actor, Sello Maake kaNcube, is demanding paternity tests from his two baby mamas after suspecting infidelity during their relationships. If the DNA tests confirm that the children are his, he intends to include them in his will, Sunday World has reported.

Maake kaNcube, who is best known for his roles in Generations and Skeem Saam, wrote a letter to his lawyers, Makgopa Attorneys, instructing them to summon his former partner, author and speaker Mmatshilo Motsei, to take a paternity test. In the letter, Maake kaNcube expressed his suspicion that Motsei was romantically involved with a journalist while they were dating.

After careful consideration, I would like assistance in getting a summons to request a paternity test for the child I might have with the second respondent, Mmatshilo Motsei,” reads the letter.

Maake kaNcube also revealed that Motsei threatened to abort the child during her pregnancy and that he endured months of uncertainty regarding the paternity of the child. He further alleged that Motsei was colluding with their child’s college to attach his luxury vehicle over unpaid school fees, even though he did not sign any papers as a parent on the school fee payment agreement.

“Secondly, she is colluding with the school to hold me liable for a debt she knows I have nothing to do with and couldn’t afford as I have five other children that I know of. Her general conduct towards me and my wellbeing is overall questionable. Her sinister behaviour in trying to bring me down leaves a bitter taste in my mouth,” reads the letter.

Maake kaNcube further alleged that Motsei had been working tirelessly to ensure he lost business deals and had prohibited the child from visiting him when he was working in London. He also accused Motsei of using their child as a pawn to justify her internal fight towards him.

“I do GBV-related work, and she is in the same space; she would fight me for her not getting enough airtime. I have never known anyone who advocated against such a pandemic to do it simply for airtime and publicity,” he said.

When contacted for comment, Motsei agreed to take the paternity test but denied egging on the school to impound Maake kaNcube’s vehicle. “I have noted the contents of this email, and I agree with the idea of a paternity test,” she said.

Sunday World also reported that Maake kaNcube wrote to his other baby mama, Winnie Xundu, demanding a DNA test. He has been supporting the child financially after Xundu informed him that he was the father upon his return from London 14 years ago. However, he is now doubting the paternity of the child.

Maake kaNcube declined to comment when contacted by Sunday World.

While paternity fraud is a serious issue, it is also important to note that DNA tests can be a source of emotional distress for all parties involved. Children may feel confused and hurt by the revelation that their biological father is not who they thought he was, while mothers may feel judged and stigmatized for their past relationships. It is crucial that all parties approach the situation with sensitivity and empathy.
