Actor Sello Maake Kancube’s upcoming wedding to his business partner Pearl Solo Mbewe is bedevilled by persistent harassment by his seven bitter exes.

Celebgossip has learnt that the scorned women, five from Kwazulunatal and two from Gauteng, have been phoning him and some even sending Whatsapp and text messages accusing him of betrayal after learning of his forthcoming marriage to Mbewe.

This because Maake Kancube had told them that he was not looking for a serious relationship when he met them. But things changed when Mbewe swept him off his feet last year and the two got engaged early this year.

The couple plans to walk down the aisle in a traditional wedding at Mbewe’s home in Soweto in November.

Relatives of the couple, who did not want to be named for fear of reprisals, said the former Generations actor’s seven exes, five of whom he “casually dated” and two that he flirted with, started harassing him telephonically and even threatened to expose him for betraying them after learning of his planned marriage about three months ago.

One of the women, who is a former employee of the KwazuluNatal government, said the relative, even claimed that Maake Kancube owed her money.

“His phone has been inundated with phone calls and Whatsapp messages of women wanting to know what makes his new fiancée so special. What everyone doesn’t know is that he met his now fiancée in October 2020, and asked for her hand in marriage when he introduced her to his mother in December 2020.”

The family source also said Maake Kancube was unshaken by the harassment and threats and has vowed to tie the knot with Mbewe without fear.

Another relative confirmed that the two lovebirds’ pending nuptial was being blighted by harassment from jilted women.

“The man has found himself in a predicament, fielding calls from them after the news of his engagement surfaced. It rubbed a lot of women up the wrong way and now they want to claim a seat at his table.”

The relative said that one of the women, known to Sunday World, phoned Maake Kancube and demanded he pay her back the money she lent him.

“These are the monies she has been giving him when they were still dating. Now she says it was a loan and she wants him to pay it back,” said the relative.

Maake Kancube confirmed that his exes were badgering him but said no amount of harassment and threats would prevent him from marrying the love of his life.

“What this has taught me, and possibly a lesson to other men, is that when you know, you know,” said the decorated artist.

“It actually takes a few days to know if you going to marry that woman or not. What makes Pearl even more special to me is the fact that I found a lover, wife, business partner and a friend in one. She is the type of woman you want to mother your kids.”

No amount of harassment will prevent him from marrying Pearl

The former government employee confirmed that she dated the former Scandal actor and when they broke up, he owed her money. “Yes, it is true that I was in his life but I’m the one who moved on and not the other way round. He owed me money when I moved on and now there is an arrangement that I entered into with Pearl about how he should pay me back,” she said, disputing that she was harassing the actor.

Mbewe confirmed that the actor has been harassed by his jilted lovers. “I will never leave him, even if they send me nude pictures of him to prove that they dated him,” said Mbewe.
