DJ Nyceone has died

According to his colleagues, the DJ died in a Durban hospital after a short illness.

Real name Thuthukani Luthuli, he was known for songs such as Otshwaleni, and producing hits for kwaito artists in the province.

Kwaito artist Emza said DJ Nyceone was his first producer when he ventured into music years ago.

“He was talented and understood music. I was sad when I heard of his passing. When he was in hospital, I had hope that he would get better, but God had His plans. The music industry has lost yet another talent,” said Emza.

Another artist Dust Nkosi said he had worked closely with DJ Nyceone.

“He loved people and he was a hard worker. When it came to music, he knew what he was doing. He wanted everyone around him to make it in life. He was selfless and kind. I have lost a friend and close music colleague. May his soul rest in peace,” said Dust.

His friends said that they were still waiting for details of his funeral arrangements.
