Mzansi star, DJ Black Coffee is arguably one of the most successful artists to grace local soil. The Grammy-award-winning DJ has made a name for himself internationally and has worked with stars like Drake and David Guetta.
Naturally, his booking rates have gone up and now sit at a whopping R5.5 million according to numerous reports.
47-year-old Black Coffee is somewhat of a household name here in South Africa.
The father of four is famous for hits like We Dance Again and Superman and has built a repertoire as a tribal, vocal-laced music producer.
Losing an arm in a taxi accident in 1990 did not stop him from collecting multiple accolades over the years; 8 SAMA, 4 DJ Awards, 2 Metro FM Awards, and 1 Grammy award.
Pretty soon the DJ was getting international recognition and has worked with Canadian-born US-based rapper Drake.
He also produced the hit song Drive with French DJ and music producer David Guetta.
All of his success in the music industry has seen his booking rates skyrocket and many of his South African fans believe he deserves every sent he gets.
According to reports, he charges between R2.2 and R5.5 million.
Reacting to these reports, many have shared that he is worth every penny. Many of them have remarked that they too would pay copious amounts to have him perform at their events.
“He is absolutely worth it & he knows his worth!” one person said, while another added:
“He’s worked hard to be the Brand He is today. So it’s well deserved really.”
