DJ Black Coffee is set to perform at Coachella
People keep getting reminded of how far gone Black Coffee is and that he is at an international level. The world-renowned DJ is set to perform at Coachella alongside some of America’s greatest acts.
America’s hottest music festival, Coachella will be taking place in April and will be headlined by Harry Styles, Billie Eilish and Ye (formerly known as Kanye West.)
Black Coffee falls under Harry Styles’ slot which will take place on April 15 and 22.
You know how an artist measures just by the position of their name on a poster, and the fact that Black Coffee’s name is highly visible, speaks volumes. Although fans are breathing a huge sigh of relief that his name is not at the very end which is printed in very small fonts, his name was on the second row and can be seen clearly.
Black Coffee is also up for a Grammy nomination for his epic 12-track masterpiece titled Subconsciously. He is nominated for the 2022 Grammy Awards under the category Best Dance/Electronic Album. He goes up against other great international acts including major Lazer, Illenium, Marshmello, Ten City and Sylvan Esso.
Zakes Bantwini never responded to Black Coffee but his fans and his wife Nandi Madida, clapped back for him and defended him. Nandi said Black Coffee needs to see a shrink if he believes Osama is not original.
She was a guest on Lasizwe’s ‘Drink or Tell the Truth’ and she reiterated that Osama is very original, “Of course it’s an original… the song is actually a reflection of where everyone should be. We should all be positive, we should all be happy for one another – especially as black people we cannot afford to divide and rule,” she replied.
“My sister is a psychiatrist and I hate to be so deep on a show like this but I think it is important for people watching. A lot of us have childhood traumas and really need to review and seek help and therapies… I’m saying all of us,” she said.
Black Coffee did mention that they are not beefing, “No there’s no conflict, we had our differences and both agreed not to have a working relationship anymore,” he said.
