Distruction Boyz reunite again

LAST year’s split of award-winning gqom group Distruction Boyz shocked music fans.

But the duo have announced their reunion.

Zipho “Goldmax” Mthembu and Thobani “Que” Mgobhozi said they were recording their album in studio.

Although the two went their separate ways and released solo projects, Que insisted to Daily Sun that they never split up.

“We were just giving each other the opportunity to build brands as individuals. That was not a split.

“Another thing is we have realised we need each other and our fans love us as a group. That is why we thought it was time to reunite and do what we are known for,” said Que.
Goldmax said their individual projects were successful, but they missed each other as a group.

“We have different personalities, but what is interesting is that our personalities combined make for good music.

“We are happy we are back together as a group. Gqom fans can expect fireworks. It’s a fact – where there’s Distruction Boyz, there’s a possible hit,” said Goldmax.

The duo known for hit tracks such as Omunye has worked closely with artists such as DJ Tira and Mampintsha.

In 2018, they accused Mampintsha and West Ink of not paying them for working on Babes Wodumo’s hit track Wololo.
