In the recent episode of Podcast and Chill, Mac G had comedian and personality Trevor Gumbi as his guest and knowing Trevor’s outspoken nature, the episode was always going to be a lit one.

Earlier on in the sit-down Gumbi shaded AKA’s new Cruz Vodka flavour.

“Who the hell drinks Banana flavoured Vodka bafwethu? What do you even dash it with? Imagine putting Ice Cubes in Mageu.” Said Gumbi, leaving Mac G rolling on the floor.

The guest also touched a bit on the wild lifestyle he used to live.

“I remember I was doing a show at Morula Sun and after the show and these orgies that would happen. If you don’t want to make the same mistake I’ve made, learn from the same mistakes I’ve made.” Stressed Gumbi.

Looking back, the Zaleb did not think that he’d live to see age 40.

“I didn’t think I’d get this far. I’ve honestly had so many near-death experiences that I’ve almost felt invincible and now that I’ve got a hold of my life and I’ve been clean for so many years and I know where my priorities lie, which is my family. Now I look forward to living another 40 years. Just to see them happy.”
The comedian revealed that the last time he was high eleven years ago.
“The last time he was high, well, I don’t remember because the last rehab that I went to, Houghton House, was the one that I checked myself into personally. Because I had realised that I had hit rock bottom. And I realised that my life is in shambles and I’m about to lose my family.”

He shared a bit about the experience although he doesn’t remember all the details.

“It’s difficult for me to say what was happening the last time I was high because it took a lot of introspection after the last high that I had. Where I went off of it for quite a while before I made the decision that I can’t do this on my own. I needed help.”

Mac G also asked him about his thoughts on superstar comedian Trevor Noah and Trevor threw in some shade about the star, implying that he stole some of his jokes.

“The Daily Show, Noah’s arc where he took two of every South African’s jokes and put them on the arc and went overseas with them.” He also revealed that him and Noah go back. “I was emceeing at a gig and he came through and asked for a slot and I was like whatever. He came through and killed it, that dude was so funny.”
