Bonang Matheba speaks about life after relocating
Bonang Matheba opens up about her survival in the United States of America over the past two years.
The media personality relocated from South Africa to the United States in 2020. However, she’s been at home for over a month, shuffling between Nigeria and SA. Speaking to Drum, Queen B claims that surviving in the US is tough as one needs to work his or her way up to the peak.
As opposed to what most of her mzansi fans thought of her, the star says she was not in the US for pleasure, but to work and secure more bags.
“New York is tough. It is cut-throat and lonely, but I love the challenge. The US is massive, and everyone is trying to make it. They are also the crème de la crème of entertainment, they created it. It’s the heaven of showbiz. I did not get there and become the Bonang that is known in my country and continent. I needed to work to prove myself all the way to the top. The experience has been different in many ways,” she added.
It’s always been Bonang’s dream to go international, and she’s finally achieved it with lots of work.
“It has been good to me. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, since a young girl, I knew that I would start at home and then work towards being international.”
She says there’s lots of project up her sleeve and at the right time, she will make them known.
