Blue Ivy lands her first job as a narrator

Blue Ivy Carter’s already got a pretty impressive resume. She’s starred in several of her famous mom’s videos, and at just 7 years old the daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z won her first award – the Ashford & Simpson Songwriter’s Award – for her work on Brown Skin Girl, followed by a BET Award.

Now, she can officially add narrator to her CV, with writer Matthew Cherry revealing on Twitter on Monday that Blue, now eight years old, is narrating his book Hair Love.

The story is about a Black father who must do his daughter’s hair for the first time while his wife’s in hospital. The short film version of the story, featuring the voice of Issa Rae as the mother, won an Academy Award, reports Variety.

An HBO Max Hair Love series is also currently in the works.
