There was a time in the South African entertainment industry when Babes Wodumo was the biggest artist in the country, The star was at the top of her game and everyone was invested in her journey as a musician.
Shortly after being famous, Babes Wodumo experienced the dark side of fame when her career took a few knocks. Over the years, the dancer has experienced high highs and low lows.
In 2018, Babes Wodumo was embroiled in a messy situation that saw the media personality trend for weeks. During an interview with Masechaba Ndlovu on Metro FM, Babes Wodumo spoke about her alleged relationship with Mampintsha after Masechaba reportedly brought it on air without Babes’ consent.
After that happened, both ladies came out with statements that contradicted each other. It was truly a messy situation and fans had many different opinions about what happened.
In an interview with Azani Mosaka on Real Talk, Masechaba told Azania that she was approached by Babes’ manager for help, “Babes and her manager approached me at the Black Panther premiere, and my heart simply broke when I saw… Well put together… we even have a picture together, but if you looked at her face there was a great sadness, and it all made sense when they approached me and told me that they approached me to help Babes.”
In the same interview, Masechaba admitted that what she did was unprofessional, “I removed my professional cap and I stopped being a broadcaster, and I became a human and I became a woman, because at that moment… she was shaking because he was stalking her on her phone, that was the first interview that he didn’t know about,” she explained.
Despite the drama and allegations, Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha managed to move forward with their relationship, and in 2021, they welcomed their first child together. Taking to Instagram, Babes shared the news accompanied by a picture of her husband and newborn baby.
