Newly engaged couple Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha will be giving fans a reality show! This time they have signed a deal with Showmax and it is reported worth R3 Million. Their on-and-off relationship has been highly criticized by many of their fans and now they will be given the front row seat to their personal lives, laying some of the rumours to rest.
It is reported that their reality show will comprise of 13-episodes and the titles has been disclosed. This comes after they got engaged live on-air on Gagasi FM’s drive time show, hosted by DJ Warras, Nomalanga and Clarrisa.
The publication reveals that they signed the deal a few months ago and have already started shooting. Their very abusive relationship, their booming careers as well as their wedding preparations will all be televised for fans to witness.
The assault charges they laid against each other that has left Babes’father embittered will also be addressed. It is no secret that Babes Wodumo’s father, Reverend Mbongeni Welcome Simelane is not a huge fan of her fiancé but has warmed up to him. So fans can anticipate his appearance as well.
Their manager, Sibusiso Ncube confirmed to the publication that there is a reality show brewing but cannot divulge anymore information. He also could not reveal the channel that the show will be airing on. The couple had wanted to announce the good news for some time now but were advised not to.
The couple had a reality show in the pipeworks last year but had to quickly involve the court to stop the airing of the docu-series titled Impilo: Mampintsha WeskInk. It was going to broadcast on Moja Love and hosted by Jub Jub and was going to give fans insight on Gqom’s most popular couple and their relationship.
The reality show was promising to bare it all and allow Mzansi into the couple’s private space. The scenes from the show exposed their turbulent relationship and the trailer released by the channel, had Mzansi shook.
The graphic scenes had social media up-in-arms and lambasted Moja Love for promoting violence and airing Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha’s dirty laundry.
Realising that the show would damage their reputations and possibly their careers, the couple issued out an apology after getting the court to halt the airing. “We noted with great concern your comments and expressions of disappointment at us. We wish to assure you that your disappointment is of great regret to us, as we only seek to entertain you during the times of disappointment, and not the opposite.”
