Actress Sthandwa Nzuza heavily beaten by her Pastor husband

Former Ukhozi FM radio presenter and actress Sthandwa Nzuza has revealed some shocking details on her marriage with pastor Philani Gama.

According to Isolezwe, she has suffered greatly at the hands of her husband and has allegedly laid charges of assault against him.

Fans were happy for the personality for tying the knot with her partner and she gushed over him during their anniversary about 2 years ago. Everything seemed to be going well for the couple then the unexpected happened.

Rumours circulated last year that Sthandwa and her husband were having marital problems and were on the verge of a divorce, however, she denied those claims.

The publication detailed some of the horrific events that took place within their marriage. They allege that her husband beat her to a pulp and smashed her phone during an argument.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, Captain Nqobile Gwala confirmed to Isolezwe that a woman went to open a case against her husband on January 18. “He appeared in front of the judge on January 21 and the case was moved to February 18,” he added.

Gama is also said to speak ill about her during church sermons and aired her dirty laundry during one of his services. Claims which Sthandwa denied when asked about them.

In order to protect her kids, Sthandwa never addressed these rumours and suffered in silence. This time when contacted by the publication, she hesitantly spoke out, without revealing too much.

“The reason my marriage is suffering is because of the abuse I have suffered at the hands of my husband. I do not like talking about my private life, nonetheless, it is true that I have opened a case of against him,” she said.

After laying the charge at the station, she then requested that the police accompany her to her home to fetch her belongings as she was scared to go there alone.

Gama was set to appear at the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court last Tuesday, but to Sthandwa’s surprise, she alleges that the docket went missing. Left disappointed and shocked at the outcome of this case, she reckons that the system does not prioritize women who have been abused.

Gwala says they are investigating the case of the missing docket, as it is difficult for it to go missing.
