Nambitha Ben-Mazwi has been raising the bar with her acting prowess in the local Television industry. The actress became a household name when she starred in Mzansi Magic’s drama series Doubt, and it certainly catapulted her acting to higher heights.
Nambitha recently starred in The Queen Mzansi and her enthralling performances left viewers in awe. The actress is celebrating a major milestone in her career, Yass talk about making boss moves. Nambitha has revealed that she is currently appearing in 3 Netflix shows. In a tweet, the actress announced that Diamond City has been licensed by Netflix SA and it is streaming across 190 countries.

The actress also stars as Refiloe in How To Ruin Christmas: The Wedding, who is one of Beauty’s bridesmaids. The star-studded series which got released last week is set against the backdrop of Beauty’s Christmas Wedding, Tumi Sello, Beauty’s older, troublesome sister’s shenanigans come to life, quite literally ruining her sister’s well-thought-out wedding.

The series has been stealing and hearts and speaking about what viewers can look forward to from the series Thando Thabethe who plays a lead role recently said, “The script is authentic I think you will watch the series and identify yourself or one of your family members with one of the characters and I think it also fits the incredible spirit of Christmas that we as South Africans have. You will be able to identify that sense of family.”

Nambitha also stars in Black Mirror which is also streaming on the international streaming platform. The award-winning actress recently revealed that she went under the knife, after being diagnosed with stage 1 of endometriosis.

Nambitha said on 25 May 2020 she went through a number of surgeries and her recovery has not been smooth sailing, but not she is in a better space.

“I underwent emergency surgery. A number of procedures were done, above and beyond being diagnosed with stage 1 endometriosis.” “It’s been a whirlwind of emotions, leading up to the surgery and finding out the news. The recovery hasn’t been smooth sailing, but now I am in a much better place. A more peaceful place and am surrounded only with love,” she wrote.

Although she has accomplished many milestones in her career, Nambitha has also had challenges in life. The actress told TshisaLive that when she was growing up, many teased her for her dark complexion and she has used that experience to educate other young girls to be comfortable in their skin.

“There was a nickname that I will never forget. There is a bird that’s pitch black and people used to sing a song calling me that bird,” “Although I have never been told that my skin was the reason for me not getting roles, I have tried to work with what I have and work with Pan-African productions where I know that I have the look. I tend to go where I am celebrated and block off everything else,”
