Actress Larona Moagi Bags New Gig

Larona Moagi is back at work following her unexpected exit from The River. Many wondered where she’d head to next and it seems she could be switching careers. The qualified lawyer debuted her new campaign with Jameson. It was shot at a popular restaurant in Joburg.

Despite some mixed reactions about her time on the telenovela, Moagi was showered with love from veteran actress Sindi Dlathu following her exit from The River. Sindi believes she is destined for greatness in the acting field and wished her well in her future endeavours.

Season three of the hit 1Magic telenovela is done and dusted and whilst we’re now focused on season 4, Larona Moagi is no longer part of the cast.

Her three year run on the telenovela ended after her on-screen mother Lindiwe, played by Sindi, killed Tumi, her character. “The sky will never be the limit for you because you are destined for greater heights. I’m so excited to see what the future holds for you. Working with you every day was a joy. I am so proud of you Lareezy,” Sindi wrote on Twitter.

She even shared two pictures of the two of them and Larona revealed that there is a story behind them, “Also the story behind the first picture,” she laughed.

Larona said she learnt a lot from Sindi and thanked her for all she has done after three years of being co-stars, “I miss you immensely. I am so grateful for you. Thank you for sharing your art, your knowledge & your love with me. Thank you for it all sis Sindareezee.”


After her final episode, Larona thanked the production company, “iiiiiiisaaa Wrap! RIP Itumeleng Mokoena/Dhlomo/Dlamini etc. Thank you to @TshedzaPictures for granting me this opportunity. Thank you to everyone who walked this journey with me. God bless, see you on the flip side.”


Even though Larona has received some flack for her acting, many appreciated her art and what she brings to the table. One actress who was very vocal about how much she disliked her acting was veteran actress Moshidi Motshegwa.

Speaking on her relationship with Larona, the legendary actress said the following:

It was very difficult to work with Larona. We can’t cast people from Instagram, give them a huge role and not give them support. Moshidi continued to add:”I even said at the meeting(with producers) that Larona is struggling because she is not an actress and has been given a huge role to play. This is a craft. It is a skill.”

To make matters worse, the whole drama got so bad to the point where Larona’s parents wanted to come to the Tshedza headquarters and confront Moshidi.
