Fanele Zulu’s little family is growing.

The actor and his fiancee Nana Mthethwa are expecting their first child together.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Fanele, who plays NJ Cele on 1Magic’s telenovela Lingashoni, said he was excited when he heard the news.

“Funny enough, I was the one who suspected she might be pregnant because she started becoming sick randomly.

“One day, I was on my way to work and I bought a pregnancy test, which confirmed everything to us,” he said.

“At first, I was in disbelief and shock and I was later overpowered by excitement. I started planning because I want to give my child everything I didn’t have growing up.”

The 25-year-old said the first few months of Nana’s pregnancy were rough.

“She got really sick in the first five months but above that, it has been a beautiful journey. I have been to each and every scan and witnessing my child grow is one of the most beautiful things I have seen in my entire life,” he said.

“My favourite moment has to be when I felt the baby kick for the first time.”

Fanele said they knew the sex of the child but wanted it to be a surprise. He said although he recently proposed to Nana, they were not in a hurry to get married. He said they were also planning to wait before having a second child.

“If we decide to add more family members, it should be at a time when she is happy where she is and has achieved most of her dreams,” he said.

Fanele also revealed that 2022 was going to be a big year for him.

“I have scored my first lead role in a Netflix show. That is something people should look forward to.

“I am really excited about it because it means growth for me,” he said.
